Summary: Glorfindel sets a trap.

Hungry eyes peered through the trees as the prey unknowingly walked passed. A tongue licked eager lips. Need and want coursed through pulsing veins, and the heartbeat raced making him dizzy with desire. Glorfindel had waited so long for the right moment to spring his trap and sate his need.

Gracefully, Erestor made his way along the path that would take him home. He smiled ruefully as he caught the scent of Glorfindel in the air. Why did the slayer think he could hide? Erestor continued on his way, making sure to not get too far ahead of his own desire. Long had he wished for the courage to approach the warrior about his feelings. Feelings that surfaced upon their first meeting, feelings that had grown with every moment they shared.

Glorfindel crept closer as Erestor stopped for a moment to smell some roses before he climbed the stairs to the house. The warrior watched as the dark elf bent to inhale the sweet aroma of his favorite flower.

Looking to the sky and seeing the evening growing dark, Erestor sighed. "Tomorrow I will come and gather you for a bouquet in my room," he said, stroking the fragile petals. Then he walked to the stairs and entered the house.

Hands fast as lightening unsheathed a dagger and deftly cut six of the most beautiful red roses from the bush, and as he followed his prey he cut every thorn from the stems. Glorfindel approached Erestor's door, now feeling a bit nervous. He began fidgeting with the flowers in his hands.

Erestor stood on the other side of the door waiting. When he entered his room, he quickly shed his robes and now stood in leggings and his tunic that was untucked and hanging free. Nervously he waited, wringing his hands, wondering if he had made a mistake in interpreting Glorfindel's intentions. He startled when a knock sounded and he placed a shaking hand on the handle.

Glorfindel hesitantly looked up into the eyes of his heart's desire. Erestor smiled at the always strong and confident warrior standing there nervously rearranging flowers and trying to find his voice.

"Good evening, Glorfindel," Erestor said softly.

"Hello, Erestor, I was wondering…uh…" he hesitated.

"Those flowers are beautiful."

"They are for you," Glorfindel said, handing the flowers to him.

"For me? Thank you, Meldir." He smiled and was entranced at the warrior's bright smile in return. "Why?"

"I saw you…" He stopped, realizing he almost admit he was following Erestor. "I mean, I know you love them and I thought you should have some for your room."

"Thank you," Erestor said with a grin. "Would you like to come in? I was going to have some wine before bed."

"Yes, thank you that would be nice." Glorfindel moved through the doorway as Erestor stood aside.

"Please, make yourself comfortable. I will just put these in a vase."

Glorfindel watched the dark one move through the room. He loved watching Erestor move; the feline grace of the elf astounded him. Erestor's hair flowed and swung down his back and Glorfindel longed to run his fingers through it. When Erestor returned to the sitting area, he poured them each a goblet of wine and sat next to the warrior on the couch. Their close proximity sent shivers down both their spines.

Quietly they sat just enjoying the silent companionship. Erestor looked at Glorfindel and the warrior suddenly felt heated gaze as he met the advisor's eyes. His heart began to beat faster and as Erestor scooted closer and leaned forward to kiss him, Glorfindel wondered when he had become the prey rather than the predator. He had been caught in his own trap. Their kiss was passionate, their bodies began to meld and soon Glorfindel was on his back with Erestor grinding on top of him. His mind went blank except for the feeling of finally having Erestor in his arms.

When morning broke, they lay spent from their latest round of lovemaking. Erestor had his head on Glorfindel's chest and the warrior was running his fingers through the raven locks of his lover. Erestor started chuckling.

"What?" Glorfindel asked.

"I wondered how long you would stand outside my door last night."

"You knew?"

"I knew. I could smell your scent while you followed me."

"How?" Glorfindel asked, shocked that his lover knew he was being watched.

"I may be an advisor, but I am cunning and I know how to lure my prey to my trap." Erestor grinned wickedly as he propped on one elbow to look into Glorfindel's eyes.

Glorfindel laughed heartily before rolling atop Erestor. "Life with you just became much more interesting."

Erestor cupped Glorfindel's head and pulled him down for a kiss. "And, I plan on keeping it that way, my love."
